Teaching Factories for Kids (TF4K) ⚙️, an initiative conducted by Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) within the EIT Manufacturing “ShapING” project is over.During STEM classes, 5th grade students modeled and printed pizza ingredients 🍕 and recently, the activities lead by Teachers from escolaglobal allowed older students, from 7th and 12th grade, to program one Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV) and four robotic arms to finally assemble a production line in which a robotic arm pick up and place the pizza ingredients whilst the AGV is in charge of transporting it between different workstations. For more information visit our website www.shaping4youth.euor follow us on Instagram www.instagram.com/shaping4youth

On the 5th, 11th and 12th of May, Teachers Training was conducted by Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) within the scope of the EIT Manufacturing “ShapiNG” project. The very first session was carried out via Microsoft Teams and the subsequent sessions took place at FEUP once the activities required an hands-on approach. It entailed programming in python and assembling a production line using (a) the ingredients printed previously by the 5th grade, (b) one Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV) and © four robotic arms. Guidelines and exploration guides to held the activity were provided to Teachers. Moreover, the required equipment was offered, so now Teachers from escolaglobal are trained and prepared to teach 7th and 12th grade how to assemble a “pizza” production line 🍕. Such activity aims to demonstrate a set of technologies related to Cyber-Physical Production Systems used in advanced production systems. For more information visit our website www.shaping4youth.eu/or follow us on Instagram www.instagram.com/shaping4youth/

Teaching Factories for Kids (TF4K) ⚙️, an activity developed by Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) within the EIT Manufacturing “ShapING” project, has started. Students from 5th grade of @EscolaGlobal experienced how to model and 3D print different ingredients that will be used by 7th and 12th grade to develop a “pizza” production line 🍕. Next steps consist of Training Teachers to provide the tools and necessary materials and knowledge so they are capable of conducting the activities with the older students autonomously. For more information visit our website www.shaping4youth.eu/or follow us on Instagram www.instagram.com/shaping4youth/
